Walking....almost

Yeah! yesterday our little Alainey took three steps! Today there was also progress made, she took five steps! She will only walk for Layne though, and trust me, I've tried many times! Hopefully by Christmas or so she will be cruising all around!

Winter Wonderland!

Wow, this morning it started snowing and it didn't let up until about 7:00 tonight. We would scrape the driveway and then 30 minutes later there would already be another half inch on it. After church Brecken and Haylee got all bundled up and headed outside. I joined in on the fun...making snow angels, snowmen, and some good-old snow eatin! Hopefully the snow will let up a little bit for our Christmas travels!

A Trip to the Dentist

Haylee couldn't wait to get a NEW toothbrush at the dentist. She did however, didn't quite realize that she would actually have to get her teeth checked and cleaned first. Luckily, the dental assistants were great in coaxing her and the biggest coaxer had to be her big brother Brecken, who was sitting in the chair right next to her. I'm happy that I decided to schedule their appointments together. I also had to wake her up when we got to the dentist so I couldn't quite get a good smile for a picture. All in all, she did great and was happy to come home and show daddy her brand new pink toothbrush.

Brecken was a cool customer today at the dentist. He jumped right up and got x-rays, put on the headphones to watch "Finding Nemo", and sat still while the dental assistant cleaned his teeth with yummy bubble gum toothpaste. He didn't quite like the flouride rinse however, and was eager to get a cold drink of water after he was all done. And the most fascinating part of the dentist office for Brecken was the arcade game...inside the kids play area. I love pediatric dentists!

A little of everything....

Big blue eyes, long eyelashes, cutsie-crazy hair....I love this picture. It really captures our little Alainey so well.

I lOVE this smile that Alainey does. It is her "I know I did something really cute" smile.

Haylee found herself a little pet lizard. She makes sure the lizard isn't left out on any playtime and she even puts it to bed, which happens to be under Alaineys crib all the way against the wall. I just have to make sure she doesn't put the lizard to bed when Alainey is napping!

Brecken got to drive the same go-cart that I drove as a kid! When we were in Cedar for Thanksgiving Grandpa got out the old 'horizon' go-cart, gave it a good tune-up, and him and Layne taught Brecken how to drive. What a FUN, FUN privilege for Brecken. He had the time of his life! Not to mention the adrenaline rush I'm sure he gave Grandma. But don't worry, Layne and I stayed right close by to make sure he didn't run into anything!

Winter is Here!

Monday morning I woke up bright and early to put out our garbage (yes, the garbage truck comes at 6:45, bless their hearts), opened up our garage and stepped out onto some white icy stuff with my bare toes. A little surprised, but I proceeded to drag the garbage bags out onto the sidewalk, barefeet and all...who wants to take time to go back inside for shoes?....Besides, growing up in Cedar City gave me an appreciation for snow...it might as well snow if it's going to be super cold, right? Anyway, Haylee woke up at 7:30, looked out the window, and said "MOM, CHECK IT OUT, SNOW! HOW FUN, NOW WE CAN GO OUT AND EAT IT AND STUFF." She tried to talk me into letting her go right outside but I held her off until about 8:30. Brecken was super excited as well and headed straight outside after some pancakes. He wasn't going to skip out on breakfast like his sister tried to do. The most exciting part for him was jumping on the icy trampoline, trying not to slip and fall and get all wet! Oh how I remember those childhood days!

Alainey with her little friend Elisa

Our little Kitty

Look at our trick-or-treaters!
Lets go get some candy!
These two were so fun to watch on Halloween. Brecken had talked for weeks about being "zorro" for Halloween and riding around on his black horse to save people. But then a few days before Halloween we were browsing the costumes on Target's website and he spotted the power rangers costumes. He quickly changed his mind about zorro and informed me that he wanted to be a power ranger. Well, I certainly don't have the sewing capabilities to make an official power ranger costume so I told him we could just go take a look at Target and see what they have left. Much to my surprise, when we got back to the halloween clearance section in Target there was this blue power ranger costume hanging on the rack....and it was just his size. How lucky are we! Brecken really wanted Haylee to be a purple power ranger with him but Haylee was dead set on being Sheriff Woody. She also had a really cute Barbie Fairy Princess outfit to choose from but I think she opted for Woody because she loves wearing her cowgirl hat! Anyway, they started out walking from house to house but by the end they were running. Layne and I had to be on our toes to keep up!

Look How We've Changed

We've entered back into the blogging world again and it feels good to be back! We were without internet at our home for awhile which caused the absence of blogging. It's been fun to check out everyone's blogs to see what you've all been up to. I have to admit that I've been staying up way too late the last two nights...oops. We wanted to post some updated pics of our kiddos since it has been so long! And this is just the start of some catchin up to do!

Computer troubles.....Ah!!

Yes, we have major computer troubles! That is why I have been a missing blogger for awhile. Our screen on our laptop cracked so we can't see anything on it. An awesome ward member let us borrow an extra monitor that he had so we hooked our laptop into it. But that has been a little hit and miss too. We just pray that we're lucky and it will work so we can keep up on all the important things, like blogging.......!
So if any of you know of any awesome computer deals going on right now, let us know!

Family Time

Just a quick update for ya'll. Alainey is 3 months! Wow, time sure does fly by. I think I say that in about every post, don't I...... She has started to coo at us when we talk to her. Brecken and Haylee will say, "look mom, she is talking to you." Brecken and Haylee love it when she smiles at them and they seem to get the best smiles by simply saying "Hi" to her over and over with a really cute voice. The kids got to go outside and play with the dogs the other day because it was sunny and warm! Yes! I hope it continues to get warm, I'm ready! Little note to self......summer babies are the way to go!
This family picture was just taken in December. We need to go get another one done now that Alainey has learned to smile!

Tribute to President Hinckley

I know that it has been a couple of weeks since President Hinckley passed on but I still wanted to pay tribute to him. What an amazing man, with a catching smile that made everyone feel good. Our kids absolutely adored him and loved to see pictures of him. I had a chance to meet him in Cedar City when he came to the Shakespearrean Festival. It was only a brief handshake and 'hello' but wow, what an effect it had on my life. I felt as though I had gotten a little glimpse of what heaven is like through him. Thanks President Hinckley, for your life, teachings, and love.
Here is an awesome video tribute to check out:

Alainey is 2 months!

Our sweet baby girl is two months already. She is so precious and has enriched our lives tremendously. She has started to coo when we talk to her and she smiles more regularly now. The kind of smiles that just melt your heart. Brecken and Haylee still shower her with kisses and even tell me before they go to bed that they will give Alainey kisses tomorrow. I am so happy that they love her so much. She is a wonderful baby too.
Having three kids has definitely changed our lives. The biggest change being how quickly the days fly by and also the never-ending piles of laundry! I am so happy that my older kids are always so excited to help when I ask them to go get a diaper, fold clothes, etc...

New Puppy!

Yes, we have another addition to our family! We have an 8 week old australian shepherd puppy. The kids wanted to name her Lizzy. I still can't believe I let my husband talk me into getting a puppy. (She is just too cute.....) She really is like having another toddler running around, except that she stays outside. She is so hyper and loves to play. Brecken and Haylee are my big helpers and they get the dogs their food and water. Buddy loves having another dog around to play with and Layne is going to eventually train her to help out at the auction.

Christmas 2007

Well, I am finally getting around to posting on our blog! Can you believe it! It seems like a million things have been going on since I last posted. Our family had a wonderful holiday season full of family, food, traveling, and more food! The holiday's are about the only time that I can steal my husband away from work for an extended period of time so we were gone for about two weeks. We got a bigger car before our little Alainey arrived and we still managed to fill it up. We were chuckling to ourselves on the way home because we looked like the Griswalds..........waterproof bag of luggage on top as well as a big box, stroller, and the car packed to the ceiling! Fun, Fun.
